Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society Celebrates Big Wins
May 2, 2024
Dr. Jim Lucchelli, received the Texas Region Advisor Hall of Fame award from the Phi Theta Kappa national honor society, for which he serves as an on-campus advisor.
The award is given to advisors who make significant contributions to the growth of the individual members, serve as the chapter's advocate on campus, and encourage the chapter to be involved on the local, regional and/or international levels of the organization. Lucchelli received the award at the PTK Region Conference in March.
Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society which recognizes undergraduate college students with a G.P.A. of 3.5 or higher. Membership is lifetime and scholarships are often automatically given to PTK members upon transfer to some universities. Scholarships are also available for associate degrees.
SAC’s Beta Nu chapter was formed in May 1932.
In addition to Lucchelli’s honor, this year our chapter received 5-Star Chapter status, the highest rating possible, meaning the chapter excelled at recruiting, engaging members, networking, leadership, and research.
Several SAC students were also named District V Hall of Honor Awardees:
Jason Perez
Joe Martinez
Maria Nieto
Inkar Bakhytzhanova
Nicole Contreras-Garcia
Idolina Cardenas
Lisa Guerrero
Emma Vohwinkle
More than 50 new members were inducted into the 2024-25 Beta Nu chapter.
